The Alternative Dispute Resolution Code is now open for public consultation
The Alternative Dispute Resolution Code has been submitted by the Ministry of Justice for public consultation, marking a particularly significant step towards the institutional consolidation and further development of Alternative Dispute Resolution in Greece.
The drafting of the Code constitutes an initiative of major institutional significance, as it seeks to establish, on a unified and coherent basis, the legal framework governing alternative dispute resolution methods. This comprehensive approach forms part of the broader objective of developing a modern, effective and more accessible justice system, in which citizens and businesses have a wider range of reliable options for resolving their disputes.
The new Code systematises and modernises the institutional framework governing the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution, creating the conditions for the broader and more effective use of alternative dispute resolution methods in practice. Strengthening these methods can make a substantial contribution to the faster and more effective resolution of disputes, to fostering a culture of consensual dispute resolution and, more broadly, to improving access to justice.
The public consultation on the Code constitutes a key stage in the preparatory process and, at the same time, a meaningful opportunity to contribute to shaping the new institutional framework.
The Special Secretariat for Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Ministry of Justice invites all interested parties to actively participate in the public consultation by submitting comments and proposals that can contribute to the further improvement of the Code.
The public consultation will remain open until Thursday, 24 September 2026, at 09:00.
